Walks volunteer with Active Charnwood

We are always looking for volunteers to get involved with supporting our guided walks.

The following volunteering opportunities are available on an ongoing basis. We deliver training on demand throughout the year and this is free to attend for volunteers who wish to get involved in leading walks in the Borough. The training is delivered in partnership with the Ramblers, and our walks program is supported by Active Together.

Opportunities available:

* Volunteer walk leader or assistant walk leader to support existing walks

There will almost always be opportunities to join in supporting existing walks. So this is an ongoing opportunity. Once you have gone through the training we'll put you in touch with the volunteers who look after each walk and they'll get you involved. This is an option for you whether you're interested to lead from the front, or to assist as a back marker or middle marker.

* Volunteer walk leader or assistant - to develop new walks

We are currently looking to develop more Ramblers Wellbeing walks across the Borough, and also to offer more of our one-off longer countryside guided walks, typically these are a bit longer and in a variety of countryside locations. For anyone interested to develop new walks we'll look to find volunteers to support you.
