Listen in to Loughborough University's 'Experts in Sport' podcast series

A podcast series, hosted by Applied Sport Management Lead Martin Foster, brings together experts from across Loughborough University and further afield to discuss the latest research and hot topics in sport and academia. Some of the latest podcast topics include:

Calling businesses, clubs and organisations in RUTLAND

Active Lincolnshire, Active Humber and Active Together have commissioned the Lincolnshire Open Research and Innovation Centre (LORIC) to investigate the economic impact and value of the physical activity and sport sector. To do this LORIC are conducting a survey which will help to provide valuable information.

Active Lincolnshire would also like to extend an invitation to stakeholders, including those in Rutland, to join them for a session as part of their annual stakeholder event.

If you are involved in sport and physical activity in Rutland then please complete the survey and why not book a place to join this online session.

Team Leicestershire Talent - Applications closing soon

The Team Leicestershire Talent Programme offers bespoke support to young aspiring sportspeople based in Leicestershire, Leicester & Rutland, to help them achieve their sporting potential. The initial programme application window is only open until 16th September.

Do you know an aspiring young athlete that would benefit from additional support in order to become the best they can be?


Business Gateway Growth Hub – Autumn Workshops

Business Gateway Advisers and their delivery partners are experts in assessing and diagnosing business need and have a wealth of knowledge of the funding, local and national support programs are available to business.

Learn a new sport, is just one of the FITCATION opportunities available

The Fitcation offer is all about inspiring gentle adventures and active escapes.

Over 40 experiences are available, offering thrill-seeking challenges, opportunities to learn a new sport or have family active fun.

Take part in thrill-seeking challenges, learn a new sport or just have active family fun in a beautiful county with over 70 miles of waterways and a 200 square mile National Forest and a city with the latest in leisure and active entertainment facilities.

Interested in including your visitor experience?

To meet the minimum criteria the experience must be:

*available in Leicester or Leicestershire
*available on a regular basis (i.e. seasonally or all year round, not just specific dates)
*able to be booked by the general public not just member
bookable by a website, or by email or phone which is responded to regularly



Calculate and measure your business' carbon footprint

The East Midlands Chamber is investing in 400 one-year Zellar sustainability platform licences (worth up to £600) to help businesses on their journey to reducing their carbon footprint, measure performance, and create a decarbonisation plan. The licenses are being offered on a first-come, first-served basis and will be available to businesses within Leicester City.

Zellar are hosting dedicated online drop-in sessions for this project every Wednesday at 2pm, showing how best to use the platform to achieve sustainability goals. To check your eligibility and to sign up for your plan, follow the link.
