The Heart of the Matter - SADS Awareness Week 2024

SADS Awareness Week takes place this week and is organised by Leicestershire based heart charity the Joe Humphries Memorial Trust (JHMT) in collaboration with University Hospitals Leicester NHS Trust. SADS stands for Sudden Arrhythmic Death Syndrome, which cause a disturbance with the heart rhythm and can lead to sudden cardiac arrest.

Over 14,000 people to benefit after NICE published final guidance recommending abaloparatide as an option for treating osteoporosis after menopause, if there is a very high risk of fracture.

Local woman to run desert marathon for Leicestershire charity

A local woman, Sarah Reeves, will be running across the Sahara this October. The race over the Sahara desert will raise funds for Living Without Abuse (LWA). LWA is a local domestic abuse support charity, providing help across LLR. Further details and a link to donate are available.

A free children's wheelchair mobility-training workshop is coming to Leicestershire in September. Road safety, balance-skills and games such as wheelchair basketball and wheelchair dance are set to be included.
