24 businesses from across Leicestershire, Leicester & Rutland came together on Friday 19th June at Charnwood College to compete for the illustrious title of Leicester-Shire & Rutland's number one sporting workplace! As part of Leicester-Shire & Rutland Sport's (LRS) Workplace Challenge, the Business Games aimed to get workplaces fit, healthy and active.
The event invited workplaces to get active, fit and healthy through friendly games of dodgeball, volleyball, softball and a host of sporting challenges. These included athletes, golf, cricket, zorb football, table tennis, canoeing and netball.
Each team wanted to take home the coveted crown, so competition was fierce and pride was at stake. The event got off a storming start with some high-class sporting action on display as the teams showed how much this meant to them. The banter never eased up as teams showcased their talent and they should all be congratulated on their spirit, respect, and sportsmanship that they all demonstrated. But beneath all of the laughter, the final result was never far from team's thoughts.
After 3 hours of sporting action, the North West Leicestershire School Sport Partnership Team came away victorious as the overall winners across the 4 Pools, with The Martin High School coming second!
