Disabled Bowler in Nottingham

Today, 4th December, I played in Disability Bowls England Maiden Singles competition. With two groups of 4 players, you play each player in your group, and the top two play in the final.

I haven't been playing well lately but today was the best bowls I have ever played, I think. I won all three group games and in the final it went to the last end with the scores tied 15 - 15. After we bowled the last bowl it was a measure for shot and unfortunately I missed out on winning by 1 inch.

At the time I was gutted to lose 16 - 15 but now I'm really feeling great that I bowled so well and made it into the final. My depression has really been bad the last two weeks or so and today has really been great and given me such a brilliant feeling that I am capable of being good enough to do anything. And it was so great to see old friends and make some new ones. Winning is great but it's not everything, sometimes the getting there feels great too.
