Part 2.

so Saturday morning at 10 am we headed off to Harlow in Essex to play at my great mates club Griffin bowls club ,the journey down was a true adventure it started of well and fine until we got along the A14 when a diversion completely confused the satnav and I'm sure we went round the same roundabout 4 times then when just 20 miles away we need to stop at the services to find the slip road back on to the M11 was closed so had to travel 13 miles back up to turn round back down again but who doesn't like an adventure. We got to the club and it was great to see Dan and some other old friends and new ones, we played triples on 3 rinks and Daniel played for DBE against his own club team mates, Daniel was my lead with Stuart 2 and me Skip it was a lovely afternoon and the 3 of us took an early lead and kept it going so winning by 22 - 9 after 18 ends and DBE won overall by 16 shots which was great , then we had a meal with a raffle and a good chat , then after thanking everyone and saying goodbyes we headed home which was thankfully issue free. I didn't have any trouble sleeping which was good as up at 6 a.m to head back to Leamington for my 2nd day v Scotland I was to start the day with Singles game I played as well as I could but wasn't quite good enough and was well beaten by a very good player, then I was to play the Pairs game with Janet who I had only met earlier that morning and again the Scotland pair took control after a few tight ends so we lost by a few but what an amazing experience to get to be playing for England against a really strong team Scotland. I am so proud of what I achieved as I really thought it would be just a dream . Still can't believe it.
