About Hinckley Basketball Club

Hinckley Basketball Club was founded in 1974 by Terry Byng and Paul Ferrier. The original team consisted of some staff of John Cleveland College and friends.

At its peak the club had three men's teams, a women's team and a youth team.

The club folded in 2013 on the club's 40th anniversary due to lack of players but re-formed for the 2014–15 season.

A few years ago the Club adopted the name Hinckley 69ers, a name derived from the town's proximity to the M69 motorway.

The Club's home base is Green Towers (Hinckley Club for Young People).
