Chance To Shine Street Cricket

Chance to Shine Street is bringing cricket to thousands of young people in inner-city areas. It uses the game to promote social cohesion and create opportunities in diverse communities affected by anti-social behaviour and youth crime.

The project works in urban areas lacking in green spaces where cricket is less accessible. Sessions are targeted towards areas of social deprivation and areas with large black and minority ethnic communities.

Chance to Shine Street delivers free cricket coaching in community venues such as leisure centres, sports halls, youth clubs and housing estates. Chance to Shine Street community and estates projects run all year round with regular competitions in every school holiday bringing together projects within each city.

The community sessions involve coaching and game opportunities, with 20 balls per side lasting no longer than 20 minutes per game. All equipment is provided, you can wear what you like and there is no experience necessary.
