Para Sport Multi-Sport Talent ID Day

Plan for the day:

• Date: Wednesday 7^th June 2023
• Venue: Derby Arena, Royal Way, Pride Park, Derby, DE24 8JB
• Age Group: 11-16
• Time: 10am – 2pm (To allow travel time at both ends of the day)
• Within that timeframe, there will be up to 6 x 30min slots for young people to drop in and try as many different sports as they can throughout the day
• If groups arrive late / have to leave early, that is not a problem, it will just mean they will have access to a smaller number of 30mins slots

Sports involved:

• Para Football
• Para Cycling
• Para Triathlon
• Boccia
• Para Volleyball / Sitting Volleyball

Please Note:

• There may not be a specific scheduled lunch time. If this is the case, we will leave it for groups / individuals to allocate one of their 30min slots to eat at their own convenience
• NB: Some young people may be eligible for more sports than others so school staff are asked to ensure participants understand which sports / pathways are applicable for which impairments
• (This is included in the pre-event information circulated)
• Sports / NGBs delivering will have a plan to ensure that there is a varied offer to ALL participants, endeavouring to cater for athletes to experience their sport even if they are not eligible for their pathway
• Sports / NGBs will provide pathway information on the day and / or follow up with contacts to refer athletes accordingly
• Where possible, sports / NGBs will also provide signposting for athletes who wish to play their sport but are not eligible for the talent pathway
