Team Rankine Karate

Welcome to Team Rankine Karate. We are a family-friendly club offering exceptional karate tuition for children as young as 4 through to advanced training at elite levels. Based in Wigston, Leicestershire we are the only karate club in the whole of Leicestershire to offer 2 World Karate Federation accredited coaches. Our national governing body is the EKF who are with the WKF.

Our founder Sensei Michael Rankine is an active sports coaching professional. All coaching team members are dedicated to helping Karate athletes, from beginner to elite level, to reach their potential and surpass their own expectations. Your journey in martial arts with Team Rankine Karate will begin with training in our state of the art Dojo (training room) supported by our team. Learning in both full class and small group environments you will learn your basic Japanese terms and how to perform Kihon (basics or fundamentals of karate techniques). Your training will include kata and kumite allowing progression through your grades/belts at your own pace. The opportunity to compete is always available to our athletes.

Our team is successful at local and national tournaments competing in both kata and kumite events. Athletes of all levels attend these events with our elite team fighting at international level. Some of our higher grade students train with the Midlands Regional Team and the Elite team train and compete at both Regional and National events.
