Mary from Hinckley & Bosworth
Mary, a lifelong enthusiast of active living, discovered her passion for gardening at a young age. With a garden sprawling across two allotments and a dedication to self-sufficiency, she cultivates a vareity of vegetables and fruits. Mary's surplus produce is either frozen, sold to neighbours at a bargain price, or generously donated to a local food bank.
In her youth, Mary embraced the rhytm of dance halls and even pursued ballroom and Latin dance classes. Judo also became another hobby, where she became a brown belt, quaifying as an area referee and helping run a local club. Unfortunately, a neck injury brought this to an end.
Undeterred by setbacks, Mary found a new love in exercise classes, led by a former school friend. This enduring friendship spanned 40 years of engaging routines set to music. After her friend's retirement, Mary discovered FitSteps, a dynamic fusion of keeping fit and dance moves set to lively music, allowing her to continue her active journey.
