Bring On The Big Adventure During National Go Canoeing Week

National Go Canoeing Week runs during the half-term holiday from 27 May – 4 June. Events and paddling adventures are being held, by Clubs and Centres, up and down the country, for people of all ages and abilities to have a go.

Whether you're after a solo challenge or a new hobby for the whole family to enjoy, National Go Canoeing Week will be packed with loads of canoeing, kayaking activities to keep you and the kids entertained.

If you're already a paddling fan and want to push yourself with a new endeavour, this is the perfect time to train up and take something big on!

This year British Canoeing has also partnered with Cancer Research UK, so you can raise money for a great cause while having a big adventure on the water. So get your fundraising thinking caps on, get sponsored and help us reach our target of £30,000!

There will be hundreds of starter sessions, run for novices, where participants can just turn up and get a feel for what paddling is all about. All the necessary equipment be provided and you can contribute to the mileage target.

Alternatively, you could tackle one of the British Canoeing Challenge Paddles and take in the scenery of the beautiful British waterways. There are challenges of a one, two or six miles, or perhaps you want to do the big one, The Three Lakes Challenge.

If you want to make a weekend of it you could even discover fantastic places to paddle across the UK. The River Wye and Lake District have a wide variety of events and hire opportunities. Spend the weekend in a cosy B&B, visit friends or give canoe camping a go.
