Celebrate your Volunteers

Culminating at BBC Sports Personality of the Year, the #BigThankYou is an opportunity for sports clubs, projects and fitness groups to acknowledge their volunteers. Gary Lineker, Clare Balding and Gabby Logan will present the show live from Birmingham's Genting Arena on Sunday 16 December.

Community sport and recreation clubs and groups can be part of the action by celebrating their outstanding volunteers, sharing their stories, posting pictures on social media and thanking them through the hashtag #BigThankYou in the lead up to the show.

We've had great success on the night in previous years and would love to get #BigThankYou trending again, to promote all the outstanding work you guys do for the nation. So be sure to get everyone you know involved – from coaches to cleaners, from trustees to parents, groundskeepers and amateur officials.

All you need to do is encourage them to jump on Twitter at 8:15pm when they announce the Unsung Hero Award, and use the hashtag #BigThankYou in their thank you message.
