New Defibrillator Guidance for Clubs Available

Sport England have been working closely with the Joe Humphries Memorial Trust (JHMT), the British Heart Foundation (BHF) and Sheffield and Hallam University's Academy of Sport and Physical Activity to develop a new guidance note on Sudden Cardiac Arrest and the use of Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs).

It is designed to help raise awareness across the sector about what defibrillators are, how they are used and the practical measures to consider in the event of needing to deal with Cardiac Arrest. The guidance note is the first step in helping to raise awareness in this area and will be followed by a new digital resource next year.

Sudden Cardiac Arrest, can affect even the fittest people. Providing help fast is critical. Please share the guidance note across your organisation and with local clubs / groups, to ensure as many people as possible can access this important information.
