Work for us! - Marketing & Communications Officer

Active Together is a partnership organisation working to help the communities in Leicestershire, Leicester and Rutland move more and be physically active. The role will lead the delivery of our existing marketing and communications plan.

Contract Type: 12 months fixed term, to cover maternity leave. Be able to start in December 2023

Hours: Part time– 22.5 hours per week

Location: Hybrid working between SportPark at Loughborough University / Home

About the Role

Active Together is a partnership organisation working to help the communities in Leicestershire, Leicester and Rutland move more and be physically active. The role will lead the delivery of our existing marketing and communications plan.

There will be a specific focus on (although not limited to)

  • Coordinating the delivery of all marketing and communications activities, plans and projects for Active Together
  • Working with the Active Together team and its partners effectively promote physical activity and sports events, programmes and campaigns
  • Overseeing the content management and development of the Active Together website, social media channels, including, Facebook, "X", Instagram and LinkedIn.
  • Working with the team and partners to integrate the "Lets Get Moving" strapline across all Active Together programmes, campaigns, events and websites.

About You

To apply for this post you must be able to demonstrate the following knowledge, experience and skills:

  • Educated to a minimum of level 4 in a relevant area, and/or equivalent level of experience in the areas associated to a marketing, communications and public relations.
  • Has successfully led the marketing and/or communications function in a public or private sector organisation.
  • Experienced in effectively using digital marketing tools i.e. websites, social media platforms, newsletters, videos, design software, infographics, to engage audiences.
  • Developed and managed the roll out of local promotional campaigns
  • Possess excellent organisational, planning and presentation skills, able to write updates/reports. Have an excellent attention to detail
  • A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. Be IT literate, inc. intermediate to advanced knowledge and application of Microsoft Word and excel, analytical and survey tools. Be able to use PowerPoint, Outlook, Canva (or equivalent).
  • Strong team player with good interpersonal skills and ability to work on own initiative.
