Workplace Wheelchair Basketball Competition

Run at Loughborough University, New Victory Hall, Holywell Fitness Centre, the three hour event will allow you to take on other workplaces for the chance to be crowned wheelchair basketball champions.

Wheelchair basketball is a fast paced game played by two teams of five players where the object is to shoot the ball into the opposing team's basket. The rules are very similar to running basketball. Rally your colleagues together and come and try one of the leading Paralympic sports! This competition is suitable for all ages and abilities. There must be at least one member of each gender present on your team. Teams must consist of a minimum of 5 players.

Please ensure that all team members come in suitable clothing and footwear to play Wheelchair Basketball and that you bring plenty of drinks. Arrival is from 5.00 pm, with the competition starting promptly at 5.30 pm.

The competition will be delivered by qualified Wheelchair Basketball coaches, with an emphasis on fun. Rules will be sent prior to the event; however instruction and practice will be available on the day.

Bookings are made on a first come, first served basis.

Two teams are permitted per workplace - additional teams may be requested. This is to ensure that a variety of workplaces can take part.

Additional players: it is possible to bring up to 2 extra players on the night as substitutes (bringing your team to 7 players). Payment (additional £5.00 per additional player) and names will need to be provided on arrival.

Format: 5 players per team, mixed gender, Maximum of 8 teams.

Cost: £25.00 per team of 5 (£5.00 per person).
