Live Longer Better - Reconditioning & Recovery

Live Longer Better in Berkshire: Reconditioning and Recovery: Working together to reduce the burden on health and social care systems

Introduction

The population is ageing, both in absolute numbers and in proportion to the rest of the population because the numbers of people in the younger age groups are not increasing as quickly. This is often presented as a tidal wave of need that society will have to meet by doing even more for older people but Get Berkshire Active are taking a different approach by joining a national movement called 'Living Longer Better'. This forum will contribute to that movement and, we hope, will encourage YOU to join us.

Keynote Speakers:

We are very excited to welcome Sir Muir Gray (former Chief Knowledge Officer for the NHS) and Fiona Price (CEO, Age UK Berkshire) to share their knowledge and expertise at this virtual event for Health and Social care colleagues in Berkshire.

What do we want to achieve?

  • To bring together individuals from organisations and services that interact with older people
  • To outline the current state of the older people population
  • To challenge the thinking around older people, to start a cultural revolution – challenge, influence, change the syste
  • To inspire individuals to think about 'what can YOU do to make a change and EMPOWER older people to move more?' and how do we collaborate to achieve the best possible results, whilst recognising the complexity of the issue we are dealing with.
