The Independent Member will form part of the Audit & Risk Committee which assists the Board in fulfilling their oversight responsibilities for the financial reporting process, the system of internal control, the audit and risk management processes, and the organisation’s processes for monitoring compliance with both internal policies, rules and regulations and applicable laws.

- The position is not remunerated, but reasonable travel expenses incurred in fulfilling the role will be paid. The ARC meet at least 3 times a year either in person or virtually.

About Independent Member of the Audit & Risk Committee
The Board is keen to attract applications from those with a strong finance or risk background. The successful individual must have experience of the complex issues related to evaluating the strategic and operational success of an organisation, preferably in the sphere of high-performance sport. These would include all critical areas of strategic focus for British Swimming such as data protection, finance, safeguarding, sustainability, and, equality, diversity and inclusion. Personal interest in aquatic sport would also be valuable.
