About Holiday Club Leader

The Holiday Club Leader must share passion in providing a high standard of care for children under 12 years of age and have previous experience of leadership and working with children within this age group. Ideally you will hold a relevant Level 3 Childcare qualification or equivalent in Play-works and be able to lead a small team of practitioners.

The Holiday Club Leader must be able to plan and deliver fun and stimulating activities and have good interpersonal skills. There will also be the opportunity to work additional hours within the nursery and out of school clubs during school term time.

Key Responsibilities

  • To plan for each upcoming holiday club liaising with the management team.
  • To lead a team of practitioners and to ensure good practice at all times, including helping the manager with team induction and supervision.
  • Assist in the provision of creative, fun and stimulating activities which encourage imagination, independence and self-motivation; including consulting with children and involving them in planning activities, and setting up the play space, furniture and play equipment.
  • Support the development and delivery of activities in a way that is respectful and mindful of the different cultures, religious backgrounds, ages and stages of development of each child.
  • To work within the guidelines of the EYFS Framework and LSCB, following safeguarding policies and procedures, promoting the welfare of all children.
  • Ensure that hygiene, health and safety standards are met, including administering first aid when Necessary. Providing comfort to an upset or poorly child, and timely reporting of any accidents.
  • To Promote British Values, providing an inclusive and diverse environment.
  • Facilitate good communication with all members of the team, parents, and other carers associated with the children.
  • Work within the framework of the club's policies and procedures.
  • Ensure all records are up to date and maintained
  • Ensure compliancy with Ofsted requirements
  • To ensure that the environment is safe, secure, welcoming and caring at all times
  • Holiday club leader working hours will be between 8.00am – 6.00pm over 13 weeks per year.
