About Programme Manager - Generation Charnwood Programme

This is an outstanding opportunity to use your expertise to ensure the success of Generation Charnwood, one of 10 exciting projects to help make the future brighter for Charnwood residents as part of the Borough's Future Charnwood Investment Plan.

Delivered in partnership with Active Together and funded by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, Generation Charnwood is focused on improving the well-being, life chances and employability skills of young people, especially those from disadvantaged backgrounds, in the borough of Charnwood.

As Programme Manager we want you to drive the development of the project and ensure that we create a youth employability pathway using sport and physical activity. Heading a small team, you will build relationships with internal and external stakeholders and work with schools, employers and community partners to make sure the project compliments and enhances existing provision for Charnwood's young residents. As programme lead, you will take responsibility for operational planning, implementation, monitoring, budgeting and stakeholder reporting. This will involve ensuring delivery against KPI's as well as flagging and mitigating risks. You will manage your team's varied workload to make certain that targets are met and actions delivered in a timely manner. Important will be the ability to collaborate with partners and coordinate activities with the other 9 project leads to guarantee maximum impact for young people and the Future Charnwood Investment Plan is a success.

For this high profile role, you must have experience in providing skills development support and guidance to schools and networks of professionals using the power of sport and physical activity. You will possess excellent project management skills, including the ability to develop high performing teams, control budgets and produce regular reporting. Critically, your in-depth understanding of education, transition into employment and/or the sport sector will be complemented by knowledge of the key partners, organisations and individuals that can support the project. You will also be an excellent communicator at all levels, who at excels at solving problems and influencing others. You will enjoy collaborative working too. An understanding of current education, sport and levelling up policy strategies would be an advantage.
