Olympian Breaks Ground For New Inspired Facilities at Staunton Harold Sailing Club

Olympic sailor Stuart Childerley joined Staunton Harold Sailing Club to celebrate its 40th Anniversary and break the ground for a new boat house.

The club celebrated its 40th Anniversary with a host of events including Childerley, who represented TeamGB in the Finn at both the Seoul 1988 and Barcelona 1992 Olympics and is an SHSC honorary member, joined the celebrations to lead the ground breaking ceremony for Staunton Harold's £56,000 Sport England Inspired Facilities boathouse.

In addition to the boathouse, the project will include the refurbishment and modernisation of the existing training room and lengthening the training slipway for access to the water at low water to help further improve the sailing experience at the club.
