The Golden Years meet the Future!

Inspired by the England Football Lionesses? Who wouldn't be? Certainly Leicester City Ladies Football Club have been. As they head towards the Club's Golden Anniversary, there is a freshness and vitality around the Club that defies its age.

A group of Leicester City Supporters created the club in March 1966 preparing to play their first ever match in May. Founder member Chris Howker still keeps in touch with the Club and is delighted it is still as strong as ever. Are they the oldest club in the Country? Possibly? It's a fact they'd like to confirm. Certainly they are one of the very oldest; and very proud of their history. The Club is planning several events over the next season to celebrate their 50th birthday.

The beginnings of the celebration has been marked by a fresh, exciting new format for the Seniors. New Head Coach and manager, Holly Searson, takes the seniors forward into the next era; with her wealth of experience and qualifications. Holly says, "'When I met with the team at LCLFC I was impressed by their vision of where they wanted to take the club. The investment made to rebuild the youth program and now to significantly raise the bar for the senior women's teams, shows great intent and commitment to driving forward the development of the club. It's a great opportunity and I'm excited to be a part of it.'

Backed by a highly qualified coaching team and additional staff to deal with Sports Science and Health, Leicester City Ladies play at the highest level of the women's winter game in the FA Women's Premier League. They are positively encouraging new players to join the push for promotion, then top spot. The facilities for playing and training are excellent. Who wouldn't want to play at the home of Leicester City Ladies F.C., an amazing club for ambitious players.

Every level of play is catered for at this great Club. From their dynamic Inclusive section, Leicester City Woodgate, to developing youngsters of all ages in the Junior & Youth sections to the three Senior teams and the new Veterans. Leicester City Ladies continue to provide football opportunities and through initiatives like 'This Girl Can' and 'We Can Play' hopefully even more girls will want to become involved.

So, players aged, 5-15, come along and join our Junior & Youth teams or if you are 16years of age and over and a good level Senior player, then Holly particularly wants to hear from you. She is looking for high quality players to help LCLFC to the next level and add depth to the existing squad. With such a fantastic set-up and tradition, you surely want to be part of it.

All abilities are welcome and all age groups too. Contact the club through the website at www.lclfc.co.uk or email secretary@lclfc.co.uk.
