'What Women Want' Coach & Club Development Day

The 'What Women Want' Development Day has been designed by Leicester-Shire & Rutland Sport to make fitness fun, sociable and more approachable.

Sunday 13th March 2016, 10.00am-3.00pm, Loughborough University

This workshop is aimed at the people who create opportunities for women to get active and offers advice on how to break down barriers which are stopping women and young girls from getting active and keep them coming back for more.

Rejecting a 'one size fits all' approach, this workshop encourages facilitators to consider a range of barriers which may be preventing women and young girls from getting active and looks at common sense solutions to encourage repeat visits to activities.

The programme will include sessions on:

  • How to succeed in getting more women and girls involved in sport and physical activity, it's important that you start with a little planning.
  • The next step is to create communications that will grab the attention of women and girls and encourage them to attend your sessions. You can have the best session in the world, but if your marketing isn't right, you won't attract the people you want.
  • If you've done a good job with your marketing and communications you should have women and girls keen to attend your sessions.
  • Once you've done the hard work of getting women to your session, you need to keep them engaged and coming back.
