Applications open for Primary School PE Specialism Course

This is a wonderful opportunity for schools to take a long hard look at a curriculum area that can be forgotten and yet is so important to the future health of the nation.

It's a bespoke physical education and school sport qualifications for primary school teachers and Higher Level Teaching Assistants developed by the Association for Physical Education and Sports Leaders UK. The aim of the qualifications is to up-skill primary colleagues to be able to assist the delivery of high quality primary school PE. The course will address the top 3 concerns of subject knowledge, health and safety and subject leadership.

This is a nationally recognised qualification that aims to up skill staff to improve the overall delivery of the physical education curriculum. On successful completion of this qualification, delegates will be able to assist in raising the standards within primary school physical education teaching.

Average learning time: 141 hours which includes 45 tutored guided learning hours (6 planned tutor days) and 96 independent learning hours. This includes the completion of individual learning tasks and to do this it is important that there is support from the school's Senior Management Team to enable the delegate to complete all aspects of the course.
