Time is running out to nominate your BBC Unsung Hero

If you are looking to nominate your BBC Unsung Hero, make sure you do it soon because the deadline is 23:59 on 23rd October!

The BBC Get Inspired Unsung Hero award shortlists 14 nominees from the 14 different regions, celebrating those who give their time into helping others. The region achieved success in 2014, with Hinckley's Jill Stidever victorious in recognition of her work helping disabled children get into swimming.

Jill's victory followed in another local success, with Desford's Jim and Sue Houghton. Nominated by Graham Chilvers, health and recreation manager for Hinckley & Bosworth Council, the pair were rewarded for their incredible efforts in creating Sport in Desford, transforming lives as people of all ages were given the opportunity to play sport in a safe environment.

Chilvers said: "Jim and Sue have an amazing ability to inspire and support other people to be healthy and give something back to the community with no thought for getting recognition themselves. They have established a stunning facility based on strong values and ethics, which has changed lives and helped others to reach their full potential."

The winner of the regional award will go on to spend the night at the BBC Sports Personality of the Year awards, one of the highlights in the sporting calendar.

Nomination forms are attached below, with information on how to send them.
