Eight target Team Leicestershire titles

Four matches will be played at the same time as the Team Leicestershire football finals resume at the University of Leicester on March 28th.

10 teams from across Leicestershire and Leicester will battle it out across five separate year groups, having progressed through the earlier rounds to reach finals day. The full list of fixtures is:

Year 7
Brookvale High School vs. Brockington College

Year 8
Woodbrook Vale vs. Wigston Academy

Year 10

Brockington College vs. The City of Leicester College

Year 11
Ashby School vs. Market Bosworth School

All games to kick off at 15:00.

Brookvale, who had to come through the earlier preliminary round, look to be favourites in their battle with Brockington. Having scored 19 goals in their previous three games (without conceding), Brockington will look to stop the Groby based side from adding another name to their hitlist.

It's the same story in the Year 8 final, with Woodbrook Vale dominant in their two earlier fixtures. An 11-4 battering of Castle Rock was followed later by a 10-1 victory against Uppingham to put them within 90 minutes of the trophy. They'll have to get past Wigston Academy though, who have already edged past Rawlins and South Charnwood.

It's not been quite as goal packed in the Year 10 rounds, with Brockington and the City of Leicester College both having routine victories along the way. The stand out score is City of Leicester's dramatic 5-4 quarter final victory against Hind Leys, which was followed by a 2-1 win at Uppingham. Brockington are the only side who could pick up two trophies, with their Year 7's also in their respective final.

And in the last of the five finals, Ashby School with face off against Market Bosworth School for Year 11 supremacy. Having been given a bye in the preliminary, Ashby defeated Brockington and The Martin High School to reach the last two. Market Bosworth picked up semi-final victory at Long Field Academy, with a 4-2 win enough to seal their spot.
