Hockey superstar Olivia Back reveals her long-term goal to represent Great Britain at the Olympics and the advice she would give her younger self!
1 What is your go to pre training snack?
Beans on toast with cheese
2 Explain your ideal weekend
Win my match on a Saturday and then celebrate with the team. Have a lie in on Sunday morning followed by a home cooked roast dinner
3 What would be your dream job if not a professional athlete and why?
A job in education, inspiring the next generation
4 What is your long-term goal in your sport? How do you plan to achieve this?
Represent GB at the Olympic Games. I plan to achieve this by playing hockey at the highest level and continuing to work hard and push myself
5 What is your favourite 'cheat meal' when not following your training diet?
Chinese
6 Have you got any phobias? Or pet peeves?
Feet – I hate them!
7 If you were to win the lottery, what would you spend the money on?
Lots of holidays!
8 What is your favourite holiday destination and why?
Mexico - because of the beaches and the weather!
9 Do you have any non-sport related talents? Or any talents you would like to improve?
Piano - grade 5
10 If you could play any other sport, what would it be and why?
Netball - played at county level when I was younger but I had to choose between hockey and netball due to time restraints
11 Who is your role model and why?
Jess Ennis-Hill - driven, determined and successful
12 Knowing what you know now, what advice would you give to your 18/15/12 year old self
Stop worrying, don't put too much pressure on yourself and enjoy what you do!
13 What major tournaments have you taken part in/ will be taking part in in the last / next 3 months? Tell us about it!
No major tournament's coming up but my University team (Nottingham) are currently sitting top of the BUCS league and the midlands premiership league (unbeaten)
