Long Jumper Karim Chan reveals his sporting role model, favourite holiday destination and his typical Nandos order!

What is your go to pre training snack?

My pre training snack is homemade energy bars, made with porridge oats, seeds, walnuts and honey.

Explain your ideal weekend

My weekend is doing mobility exercise in the gym on Saturday and rest. Then a Sunday is normally doing revision for Maths & English.

What would be your dream job if not a professional athlete and why?

My dream job would be to be a mechanic; working on cars and developing them.

What is your long-term goal in your sport? How do you plan to achieve this?

My long term goal is to compete at the 2020 Tokyo and 2022 World Games in Beijing. I can achieve this by hard work and dedication.

What is your favourite 'cheat meal' when not following your training diet?

My favourite cheat meal is Nandos- 1/4 chicken and chips!

If you were to win the lottery, what would you spend the money on?

I would use it to travel the world and to learn about other cultures.

What is your favourite holiday destination and why?

My favourite holiday destination is San Francisco!

Do you have any non-sport related talents? Or any talents you would like to improve?

I would like to improve my IT skills.

If you could play any other sport, what would it be and why?

I would play football because I used to play in my local club as a goalkeeper and defender.

Knowing what you know now, what advice would you give to your 18/15/12 year old self?

I would say to stay focus and less computer games.
