The great summer of sport continues as the postponed Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic games get underway in the coming months with the Olympics starting this Friday (23rd).
This years games sees the addition of 5 new and exciting sports- Karate, skateboarding, sport climbing, surfing and baseball. There are also 9 new mixed gender events across seven sports and 10 additional events over 6 sports meaning there are lots of new events and disciplines for you to enjoy alongside the Olympic classics.
The Opening Ceremony kick starts the games at 12:00 on Friday 23rd July and will be live on BBC One, BBC Red Button and online.
The first official day of the games (Saturday 24th July) will see 11 medal events take place in sports including- Archery, cycling, fencing, judo, shooting, taekwondo and weightlifting.
