Well done to Market Harborough Medical Centre who become the 6th Active Practice in LLR.

To achieve the charter from the Royal College of General Practitioners, the surgery worked in partnership with Active Together and the Active Harborough team to reduce sedentary behaviour and increase physical activity levels in staff and patients.

Promotional material highlighting ways to be active locally was advertised in the waiting room and staff room. Staff have been encouraged to be active by building physical activity into their working day.

Practice Manager, Heather, says of the charter, "Becoming an Active Practice has brought our workforce together to take part and enjoy exercise whilst improving physical and mental health and wellbeing. We are continuing to have fun taking part in activities such as the inclusive walk and can't wait to join more challenges in the new year."

Georgia James, Development Officer with Active Together agrees: "It has been great working with Harborough Medical Practice, seeing all the resources we have created in both their staff and waiting rooms encouraging people to become more active."
