A local Skills Advisory Board for the sport and physical activity sector
has been established, to bring together a range of local employers, skills
leads, FE colleges, the LLEP and the East Midlands Chamber. The vision of
the Board is to improve the conditions for, and ability of the local sector to
recruit, train, support and retain an inclusive and skilled workforce ready for
employment.

An important element of this vision is to extend the reach and improve
pathways into the sector from education, further education, employability
partners and career changers. In response to this, Active Together have worked with a range of local employers from across the whole sector to develop a range of short careers films, showcasing the breadth of opportunities available and highlighting the benefits of a career in sport and physical activity. The films form part of a wider package of Careers and Labour Market Information which will be made available to schools, colleges, employability partners, career changers and to any organisation that is interested.
