In setting out the Public Health strategy, the county council’s Public Health team look to deliver services and support which reduce the causes of ill-health and improve the health and wellbeing of residents.

Public health is about improving and protecting the health and wellbeing of people.

This can be on a local or individual level, other times it can be looking at wider factors which impact the health of many such as age, location, or ethnicity.

In setting out the Public Health strategy, the county council's Public Health team look to deliver services and support which reduce the causes of ill-health and improve the health and wellbeing of residents.

The strategy acknowledges the good work going on within Public Health at Leicestershire County Council, whilst also recognising what can be done to strengthen and build on those services.

Delivering this strategy requires partnership working with the NHS and other health colleagues. Our vision: To protect and improve the health and quality of life of everyone in Leicestershire.
