Bradgate Park Tour Guide Volunteer
As a Tour Guide, you will be trained to effectively communicate the facts and history of the Ruins of Bradgate House and / or Old John to visiting members of the public. The Tour Guide role is based at the Ruins and / or Old John and requires an interest in visitor engagement that will give people a true insight into our historic buildings and landscape. Bradgate Park Tour Guide Volunteer
Skills/Equipment Required:
No previous experience required, training will be provided at the Park over a number of sessions, there are also opportunities to shadow and support more experienced volunteers before leading a tour.
Fitness Level Required:
Average level of fitness – you will be undertaking outdoor activities in all weathers, you will be on your feet for the duration of the session, some of the tour routes cover uneven or difficult ground.
Access Considerations:
These sessions take place in different areas across the park and volunteers may be required to walk to the meeting point from the car park, some tour routes are more easily accessible than others – we can provide further detail to potential volunteers.
What to Wear and Bring:
Volunteers should wear suitable clothing and sturdy footwear; the weather can be very changeable at the Park so please bring a waterproof coat. You will also need to provide your own lunch and any drinks that you require during this session, guiding activities take place across the Park so access to the café and/or shop is often limited.
