Youth Investment Fund - Refurbishment Grants

The Youth Investment Fund team wants to ensure every eligible youth service can apply for funding to renovate their service and recognises that some services only require a small investment to improve their offer to young people.

About Youth Investment Fund - Refurbishment Grants

In response to need, the Youth Investment Fund team has developed a Refurbishment Grants application stream for organisations. The focus of the fund is refurbishments on individual sites. You can apply to the YIF Refurbishment Grants Programme, if:

  • Your planned building project will be in a selected eligible area. Check if you are in an eligible area using our postcode checker
  • Your organisation has an eligible legal structure as outlined in the main YIF fund
  • Projects seeking funding of £150,000 and under
  • Projects that do not require planning permission
  • The applicant organisation either owns the freehold or has a lease of 5 years or more
  • Have listed building consent already in place, if needed
  • Most applicants should be able to commence work on their refurbishment project quickly and expect it to be completed within twelve months.

The Youth Investment Fund Refurbishment Grants Programme has the same eligibility criteria as the larger capital grants, including being an open access youth project and projects that are designed to either extend their reach to young people or help preserve their youth service.

Application Deadlines

The next two application rounds of the Refurbishment Grant Programme are:

  • 24th April to 12th May 2023
  • 29th May to 9th June 2023
