Grants are available for charities, not-for-profit social enterprises and community interest companies in the UK that are working to support young people with criminal convictions or young people at high risk of offending for the first time.

About Triangle Trust 1949 Fund

In 2023 we will be funding work that uses a Sport for Development approach to reduce reoffending and first offence rates. This means the intentional use of sport and physical activity to attain specific social development objectives, in this case reducing reoffending rates.

We hold two grants rounds per year, one for proposals wanting to work with young people who already have a criminal conviction and one for proposals focused on targeted work with high-risk young people on the edge of the criminal justice system.

Grants of up to £80,000 over two years are available. A maximum of £40,000 per year can be requested.
We support community and voluntary organisations who can demonstrate a track record of working with young offenders or vulnerable hard to engage young people on the edge of the criminal justice system.

Deadlines

  • The first funding opportunity for work with young people with criminal convictions is now open. The deadline for applications is 23.59 on Sunday 21st May 2023.
  • For organisations wanting to make an application to work with high-risk young people on the edge of the criminal justice system you can apply between Monday 18th September and Sunday 29th October 2023.
