'This Girl Can' Charity Night Out is back for it's Fifth year since Award-winning Campaign Launch!

'This Girl Can' broke the mould 5 years ago by showing women of all shapes and sizes sweating to get active. Now, five years later the award-winning campaign is embracing the unfiltered reality of women being active. Today sees the launch of the new television advert showing women overcoming challenges such as severe menstrual cramps, periods or coping with menopausal symptoms.

Leicester-Shire & Rutland Sport and partners are proud to be advocating this new countywide This Girl Can campaign with the aim to encourage more women and girls to get involved and enjoy sport and exercise. On Friday 6^th March, the fifth annual Leicester-Shire & Rutland 'This Girl Can' Charity Night Out takes place, offering local women and girls' a night out of fun and fitness with their friends and family. We would like you to not only join us on the night but to help spread the word of this fun, friendly event that makes a wide range of taster sessions available to try.

The evening will have something for everyone! Why not try Bhangra Blaze, Hula Hooping, Netball, Tai Chi, Belly Dancing, Boogie Bounce, Vinyasa Yoga, Salsa Fit, Kickboxing, Zumba, Sitting Volleyball or a Run/Walk Fitness session?

At the end of the night everyone can join in the mass Clubbercise. This fun, easy-to-follow dance fitness routine session is where glow sticks are a must when dancing to both classic and the latest chart hits in a darkened room with disco lights!

This year our charity for the event is Hope Against Cancer. Hope Against Cancer's mission is to fund innovative research that leads to improved treatments and better outcomes for cancer patients in Leicestershire and Rutland. They do this by working in partnership with local universities and hospitals to ensure that Leicestershire remains a centre of excellence for cancer research and treatment to achieve the greatest impact in the local and national fight against cancer.

This Girl Can is a celebration of active women who are doing their thing no matter how well they do it, how they look or even how red their face gets. Helping women to overcome the fear of judgement that is stopping too many women and girls from joining in.
