If you have spotted our posters up and around in your area or heard our radio adverts you'll know we are highlighting your local parks and open spaces.
Visit our "What's around my way?" pages to discover our parks and open spaces search engine which will help you find your next favourite spot. Just enter your postcode into the search engine and you will be directed to all those leafy green spaces right on your doorstep.
You'll also find a few ideas on how you can shake up your normal walk/cycle. Why not have a go at Geo-caching or follow a nature trail? You could even let fate decide your route and try our flip a coin challenge! However, you get active it all counts to your daily movement goals.
A walk or ride your local park doesn't just have to be about being active, it can also do wonders for your mental wellbeing. After just 5 minutes in a green space people often report a major shift in their mood too.

Did you know that mindfulness walking can help relieve stress, treat heart disease, lower blood pressure, reduce chronic pain and even improve sleep! When you are out walking in a park or open space try mindfulness walking!
- Begin walking, a little slower than normal
- Maintain awareness of the things around you
- Pay attention to your senses as you walk
- Be aware of each breath
- Breathe easily, but deeply
- When your mind drifts from walking and breathing, gently guide your thoughts back
