NCSEM Public Lecture – recent session Male v Female football in Europe. What are the wellbeing, health and social values?

Professor Paul Downward shared his expertise in a recent webinar focusing on the differences between the return on investment potential of male versus female football in Europe.

As the Lionesses have raised the profile and national pride in the female game, Paul shares the patterns of health, happiness and trust which sit behind the game and deliver huge value to those involved.

One of the questions at the end of the session was – "should we be investing in female football over and above the male game?" The answer was yes!!

Paul Downward highlighted the role that scarcity and value play in this and that the ROI (return on investment) is higher for females.

Therefore it's worth encouraging more girls to play, and harness the value from this.
