Understanding the implications of 'positions of trust ' in sport

Following the NSPCC's 'Close the Loophole' campaign, new legislation passed in England and Wales on 28th June 2022, and soon Northern Ireland, which makes it illegal for someone in a position of trust in sports and faith organisations to have a sexual relationship with someone aged 16-17 in their care.

In response to these changes to the law, the NSPCC Child Protection in Sport Unit has developed a FAQ document and podcast to help understanding of the implications of positions of trust in sport, who is included in the extension to the law and what this means for your organisation.
