Team Leicestershire: Dynamos Primary Cricket Finals

Congratulations to every school that made it to the Team Leicestershire Dynamos Primary Cricket Finals (both Girls and Open) which were on held at Leicestershire County Cricket Club over the past week. It was a huge achievement to make it to the finals and there were some amazing cricket skills on display over both days. Additionally, we'd like to thank all teams for demonstrating outstanding sportsmanship and respect throughout each competition, every team did themselves proud.

In each competition, 9 teams from across county attended on each day having won their local competitions. All were very excited to be playing on the pitch of a professional cricket club! The teams were divided into pools and played matches across 4 pitches, the winners of each pool facing each other in the final, whilst the second placed teams played off for third place.

The format of Dynamos cricket ensures that all players have the opportunity to bat, bowl and field which meant all games were very inclusive. There were lots of parents and spectators watching on throughout both days, and it was great to hear their cheers of support whenever somebody hit a big shot over the boundary, there was even a couple of catches in the crowd and a few lost balls! Additionally, there was some outstanding fielding skills as well as some really accurate bowling.

They even showed the finals on the big screen, which meant everybody was able to watch on no matter where you were in the ground. During the presentations, as well as the medals and trophies, teams were also given t-shirts and goodie bags which meant that nobody went home empty handed!
