Organisations keen on running holiday clubs for children and young people in Leicestershire next summer need to apply by noon February 13.

Funding is available for Leicestershire schools, charity, voluntary and community sector organisations, and other out-of-school and holiday activity providers, to deliver 'Leicestershire Holidays Together' HAF clubs.

HAF holiday club places are free for school aged children who receive benefits related free school meals and provide fun activities, nutritious meals and a safe space where young people can make new friends.

Leicestershire County Council secured funding from the Department for Education funded Holiday Activities & Food (HAF) Programme to co-ordinate the clubs during the school holidays, in partnership with Active Together.

Cllr Deborah Taylor, county council lead member for children and families, said
"Thousands of school-aged children and young people across the county have already benefitted from HAF sessions. Organisations involved have also fed back to us the immense pride and achievement they have felt through their involvement. I would encourage anyone who can accommodate running children's sessions to have a look at our provider testimonials on our website and explore the benefits for themselves."
