A case study which provides the key achievements made in delivering our strategic outcome concerning Stronger Communities.

Some of the ways which we have delivered our strategic outcomes is by building stronger communities. This has been achieved through introducing or developing different programmes alongside funding.

For example, £967,746 was invested into 108 local clubs, groups and organisations across LLR. £535,599 of this was invested into 85 local clubs as a result of Funding Officer support.

Furthermore, phase 1 of the coach core apprenticeship has been successfully completed as 9 out of 14 apprentices have secured employment within the sector and 3 outside of the sector. The programme was funded £138,500 by Coach Core, Sport England and the Leicester Employment Hub.

The Skills Accelerator Programme has transformed and resourced the capturing of employer needs, informed Further Education curriculum delivery and rolled out the Workforce Industry Exchange programme. Active together played a leading role in collating employer feedback and engaging employers and students alike to transform this work locally so that employers and students are prepared for success in the sector.

Together Fund Activator began a programme of activities in New Parks including mums and tots, men's mental health, youth diversionary sessions and a new inclusive session for adults. These have been a catalyst for developing more engagement, support and connections with existing organisations in the community.

This Case Study is taken from the Active Together Annual Review 21/22. The document provides a snapshot of the work of the Active Together Board, team and partners and what we have done in partnership to encourage the communities in Leicestershire, Leicester and Rutland to be physically active and move more.
