Melton Mowbray Play Close Jr. Parkrun- Volunteering

For most volunteers, the time commitment is from around 8:40am to 9:30am on a Sunday morning. The event takes place every week, unless there is another event in the park that would compromise safety.

There is no need to be there every week - people can dip in and out as they wish by responding to a weekly email requesting help. Volunteers don't have to be particularly fit. They simply need to be able to get themselves to our event - in the centre of Melton Mowbray (there are 3 car parks right next to the park) - and walk 200 metres or so to their marshal point and back again afterwards. The tail walkers cover the entire 2 kilometre distance but can do so at their own walking pace.

We ask volunteers to bring their mobile phones with them, if they have one, so that they can let the Run Director know of any problems but if they don't have one, there are a couple of roles they can still do.

As our event takes place outdoors throughout the year, volunteers need to wear appropriate clothes for the weather.
