Blaby & Harborough Jump to the top!

Leicester-Shire & Rutland School Games Super-Series Final Trampolining – Key Stage 3 & 4.

8 Teams from across Leicestershire, Leicester City & Rutland, took part in the Trampolining Super-Series Final this week (9th December) across the Key Stage 3 & 4 age groups.

In a closely fought contest which saw 4 partnerships represented in both the Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 tournaments. In the Key Stage 3 tournament it was Blaby and Harborough (Kibworth) that took home the gold medals. Hinckley & Bosworth (Hastings High) came second, with South Charnwood (Rawlins) finishing in third position.

For the Key Stage 4 tournament it was Blaby & Harborough (Robert Smythe) that took home the gold medals. Rutland (Casterton) came second, with South Charnwood (Martin High) finishing in third position.

The 'Spirit of the Games' trophy was awarded to Rutland (Uppingham) for Key Stage 3 and North West Leicestershire (Ashby) for Key Stage 4. The umpires collectively believed that these schools best showed the values in which the "School Games" represents - Determination, Honesty, Passion, Respect, Self-Belief and Teamwork.

The Super-Series Final saw up to 23 Key Stage 3 & 4 girls and boys representing each partnership, which was kindly hosted by Robert Smyth Academy.

The Leicester-Shire & Rutland School Games is part of the national 'School Games Programme' that is a unique opportunity to motivate and inspire young people to take part in more competitive school sport. It is open to all young people aged 5-18 years, of all abilities and backgrounds from every school across Leicestershire, Leicester and Rutland.

Delivered locally by Leicester-Shire & Rutland Sport (LRS) and the 10 School Sport & Physical Activity Networks (SSPANS), the Leicester-Shire & Rutland School Games provides schools the chance to boost their existing work in school sport to create a year-round calendar of competition for all students.

The 2015/16 School Games programme sets to provide 20 Level 3 Super-Series Finals, a Spring and Summer Championships in 55 competitions across 26 sports!
