World’s best cricketers to compete at Loughborough University

There are less than two weeks to go until Loughborough University hosts the world's best women's cricketers, with the inaugural KIA Super League commencing in August.

Loughborough Lightning is one of the six teams competing in the League and will play their home fixtures on the University's campus at the Haslegrave Cricket Ground.

The Lightning squad includes England internationals Georgia Elwiss and Amy Jones, alongside Sophie Devine from New Zealand, South African captain Dane van Niekerk, and the ICC's number 1 ranked all-rounder Australian Ellyse Perry.

Alongside the match there will be a carnival atmosphere around the ground, including a bar, catering, cricket activities and Lightning merchandise on sale.

The first match is on Wednesday 3rd August against Lancashire Thunder, followed by fixtures against Western Storm (5th August) and Surrey Stars (12th August).

Gates open at 3pm for a 4.30 start.

Advance tickets purchased online on the link below and are £8 adults, £5 concessions and just £1 for under 16's for the first match against Thunder
