Careers Speed Networking Event

Hinckley & Bosworth Borough Council's Employment & Skills Taskforce is holding a Careers Speed Networking event for secondary schools across this borough to involve year 8/9 pupils (12-14 years old). The event will be held on Tuesday 18th June at MIRA Technology Institute starting at 9.30am and to finish at approximately 11.30am. Light refreshments will be available during the morning.

We would like to invite businesses to attend this event in order to give students a vital insight into the world of work from a cross-section of local businesses in attendance at the event. During the event, students will have the opportunity to be involved in speed networking sessions lasting approximately five minutes each. During this time, students will be able to talk to business representatives to learn about routes into careers, general work activities, and opportunities for employment and apprenticeships across the borough.

There are many benefits for local businesses who take part, including the chance to showcase their employment offering to young people, thereby raising their business profile to a future workforce. The event will also help businesses to increase awareness of their sector to students, who are not always aware of what opportunities are around them in the local labour market.
