East Leicester duck, dip and dive their way to victory at the School Games KS4 Dodgeball Finals!

Key Stage 4 Mixed Dodgeball Super-Series Final

On Tuesday, 4th February, nine primary schools competed in the Key Stage 4 Boys & Girls Dodgeball Super-Series Final at Beauchamp Community College. It was a fun-filled, action-packed event with all team members taking on a competitive but compassionate spirit as they battled it out to be crowned Dodgeball Champions.

However it was East Leicester's Crown Hills CC who were the champions for the Boys and East Leicester's Rushey Mead dodged their way to the KS4 Girls victory! With North West Leicestershire's Ashby School in second for the boys and West Leicester's Sir Jonathan North securing second place in the girls finals. South Charnwood dominated third place with Cedar Academy for the boys, and Roundhill Academy for the girls. The Spirit of the Games trophy for demonstrating most the value of: passion, self-belief, respect, honesty, teamwork and determination was awarded to Ashby School (North West Leicestershire) for the girls and Fullhurst CC for the boys (West Leicester).

5th Place: Melton & Belvoir (Long Field Academy)

The Leicester-Shire & Rutland School Games, now in its seventh year, is part of the national 'School Games Programme'. It aims to keep competitive sport at the heart of schools and provide more young people with the opportunity to compete and achieve their personal best. It is open to all young people aged 6-18 years, of all abilities and backgrounds from every school across Leicestershire, Leicester and Rutland.

Delivered locally by Leicester-Shire & Rutland Sport (LRS) and the 10 School Sport & Physical Activity Networks (SSPANs), the Leicester-Shire & Rutland School Games provides schools with the opportunity to enhance their existing work in school sport and create a year-round calendar of competition for all students.
