Katie didn't start being active until she was 41, but she hasn't looked back since!
Katie does not have a history with exercise, as she was actually voted by her classmates as the person who was the "least likely to own a pair of trainers". However, she decided to sign up to Race for Life to raise money as her cousin had been diagnosed with Cancer. Over the 12 weeks that followed, Katie trained up to run 5km at a pace she was comfortable with, and her love for physical activity blossomed.
After realising that being active was good for her physical and mental wellbeing, Katie carried on running, walking and going to the gym. Katie is a passionate believer in the power of exercise and fresh air. Having overcome the barriers posed by her asthma and being overweight, and believes that everyone should have the chance to move a little more everyday to improve their life.
