Holidays Together – What is it and how can you get involved?

Active Together are working with Leicestershire County Council to coordinate 'Holidays Together' the Holiday Activities and Food Programme (HAF Programme) for 2023. The programme is funded by the Department for Education who provide funding grants to local providers to be able to deliver free summer holiday programmes to school aged children who are:

  • Attending Reception to Year 11 (inclusive)
  • Receiving benefits-related free school meals
  • Living in Leicestershire

Holidays Together will run 3 times in 2023, with programmes covering the Easter, Summer and Winter holiday periods from school. The goal of the Holidays Together programme is to support the children who attend through engaging and enriching physical activity that with keep they active over the school holidays. The children also benefit from eating healthy meals and being taught about health and nutrition, allowing them to continue to learn and develop while they are away from school. HAF programmes also provide a safe social space for the children to express themselves and meet new friends outside of their typical school environment.

Register your interest in delivering Holidays Together provision and apply for the Summer of 2023, by 15th March 2023.
