Leicestershire victorious in the U15s Shires League Badminton Finals!

On Sunday 14th May, Leicestershire became the champions of England in the U15 shires league finals. They beat Warwickshire, Yorkshire and then Hertfordshire today to take the title.

Active Together's very own Team Leicestershire Talent athlete, George Clare, captained the side to victory.

George has written a blog, detailing the days events.

"On Sunday 14th May, I played for Leicestershire U15's in the shires finals.

All through the year we play matches against other counties and then the top 8 play in the finals for the last weekend. On the day we have to play 3 counties to determine our final position in the country.

First up we played Warwickshire (which we won 15-5) taking us into the top 4. Next up was Yorkshire (which we won 13-7) taking us into the top 2 spots. Last up was Herts. It was neck and neck all the way through. We ended up drawing 10 all but won by 32 points, making Leicestershire the champions of England.

As captain it was an amazing day and a result we will all remember forever."
